Weight loss diets are usually used to enhance weight loss by restricting the amount and the type of food that an individual takes. However, it is important to note that people have different metabolic processes and therefore what works for one individual may not suit another person.

Many people are unable to sustain a continuous Weight loss over some time; this may be due to changes in their metabolic processes. It is imperative that people undergoing dieting be monitored regularly in order to avoid complications such as anorexia, gout and electrolyte imbalances
