Neilson 37 years old on left 185lbs out of shape, sluggish. 42 years on right, 165lbs stronger, better engine, and feel better overall.
Starting CrossFit was one of the best decisions ever i made. Im a 21 year veteran firefighter who got a wake up call late in my career and life. After not being as active as I used to, I gained alot of weight by eating terrible cholesterol was higher than ever due to mainly fast food. When I hit my early to mid 30s, I was driving a firetruck. Me and my wife stopped playing softball as often because we welcomed a baby boy to our family. After doing it for 6 months, I decided to join a crossfit affiliated gym and train harder. 1 year later I was loving the sport and the weight loss. In my first year competing in the 40-44 division in 2017, I came in 97th in the world. In 2018, I came in 158th in the world.
Crossfit has changed the way I look at fitness in general. I eat way better now than I ever have in my life. I haven’t had a soft drink in years. You will have bumps in the road and days where you want to quit, but you have to tell yourself, that you won’t give up. Make that your goal.
